We Can Help, But Not Right Away
Crisis situations can develop at any time of day or night and we do not operate a crisis intervention practice. Our staff is not immediately available by phone and messages are not monitored outside of office hours or during client appointments. With this in mind, we ask you to refer to following guidelines in the event of an emergency or crisis situation.
Emergency – Immediate Response Needed
In the event of a medical or psychiatric emergency or any life-threatening emergency, call 911 right away or proceed to the nearest hospital emergency room.
Calling 911 or going to the emergency department ensures that you get immediate attention and the level of care that you need.
We do not operate a crisis intervention practice and our therapists are not immediately by phone, even during office hours. We do not check messages on weekends, holidays, after hours, or other times when the office is closed.
If a crisis arises during our work together, your therapist will provide assistance and help coordinate care as needed. After receiving emergency care, please contact us. Your therapist will respond as soon as he or she can.

Non-Emergency & Non-Crisis – Professional Help Wanted
If you are a current client and feel that you need assistance from your therapist before your next appointment, we want to help. Please call our office and leave a detailed message for your therapist that includes a description of the problem, along with the best times and phone numbers to reach you.
While we do our best to respond to requests for assistance in a timely manner, our therapists manage their own office hours. Messages might not be checked for a period of days, depending on the therapist’s schedule. We do not check messages on weekends, holidays, after hours, or other times when the office is closed. Your therapist will respond as soon as he or she can.
If you feel that you cannot wait for your therapist to return your call, contact a trained professional who can help:
Contact your psychiatrist or primary care physician during office hours
Contact your local community mental health center
Please follow these guidelines to give yourself the best possible care.
